Manly United Football Club is an Australian football (soccer) club based in Manly, New South Wales, Australia and plays in the New South Wales Premier League. Their home ground is Cromer Park, located in the Northern Beaches suburb of Dee Why, approximately 10 minutes away from Manly. Its main grandstand is named after current Socceroo and West Ham United captain Lucas Neill, who played for the club, before moving overseas.

History

Manly United has played in the NSW Premier League since 2004/2005 when they were elevated after winning the Super League Division, never actually making it into the old - now defunct - NSL. The club was previously called Manly Warringah Dolphins, but changed its name in 2004 following promotion. Their ground has always been Cromer Park, though a popular local nickname is Hackett Hive in tribute to an ex-player with a notorious "bee-like energy" in midfield (who like Neill left for English Football, though with less success). Manly United is considered an important side in the NSWPL, as it is based on a geographic area, rather than founded by a single ethnic group (e.g. Croats, Serbs, Italians) like other ex-NSL clubs.
